As we close on the activities of the past 12 months and look to the next several years, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to each of our member organizations and the many dedicated healthcare professionals who work within our hospitals and healthcare organizations. We are most appreciative of your leadership, as well as your continued support and collaboration with CAPHC!
CAPHC would also like to recognize the leadership and partnership with the many families from the Canadian Family Advisory Network (CFAN) who participate and provide tremendous insight to many of CAPHC’s national programs.
Over the past several years, CAPHC has created a significant national portfolio focused on key child and youth healthcare priorities. On behalf of our membership, CAPHC has established key national partnerships with organizations and agencies that have the ability to implement practice change and ensure accountability in maintaining the highest standards of healthcare for all children and youth.
In collaboration with our member organizations we have developed a new Strategic Plan; 2009–2014. This 5 year vision builds on our track record of developing networks and facilitating national strategies that address critical gaps in child and youth healthcare. We believe that the Strategic Plan will provide the leadership necessary to guide CAPHC toward attaining the long-term vision and mission of the organization. The strategic plan and 2009 annual report are now posted on the CAPHC website: http://www.caphc.org/about.html.
The 2009 Annual Report provides an overview of CAPHC’s vision, mission, organizational goals; strategic priorities; national programs; milestones to date; future directions; and specific activities achieved over the past 12 months.
Included in this year’s Annual Report is an overview of CAPHC’s program enablers and key external partnerships, in relationship to each of CAPHC’s national programs.
CAPHC would like to thank all our external partners for their tremendous support and commitment to child and youth health.
CAPHC would also like to recognize and thank The SickKids Foundation National
Grants Program, The Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation, The Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario and MEDBUY Corporation for their ongoing support of CAPHC’s infrastructure and organizational development.
All CAPHC activities and programs are based on a mandate provided to CAPHC by its member organizations. CAPHC would like to acknowledge the leadership and expertise of the many child and youth health experts who have contributed to many of the programs and activities described in this year’s annual report.
CAPHC’s work and national programs are at various stages of development and implementation and will require significant coordination and resources in the years ahead.
In some cases, new national priorities have been identified and the next steps call for the convening of multi-stakeholder working groups to develop national strategies. Other initiatives are in the implementation phase and require ongoing facilitation and knowledge dissemination strategies.
Please browse our website and/or contact us at the CAPHC office to find out more about these various programs and how you can get more involved!
CAPHC will continue to scan the environment for emerging issues; consult with our constituency regarding the needs of our vulnerable population; and seek new partnerships to enhance current initiatives and develop new programs to advance and improve child and youth health service delivery.
Going forward, CAPHC will remain committed to the primary goal of facilitating change to improve child and youth healthcare and the vision for universal health care accessible to all children and youth in Canada through knowledge brokering, mobilization and facilitation.
We are most grateful to all our member organizations and partners for your leadership, as well as your continued support and collaboration!
